En-Save (X-L) Plant Residue Application (Stubble Digester)
PRA accelerates organic decay by promoting activity of bacterial decomposers. PRA contains amino acids, vitamins, chelated micronutrients, and other organic compounds that produce microbial activity. Cellulose, a primary component of plant cell walls, is broken down into simple sugars, which provide a food source for microorganisms that decompose crop residue. The microbes multiply at a very fast rate until their food source, old crop residue, is exhausted. They then die and release nutrients obtained from the residue back into the soil. Nutrients are then available to feed the next crop.
In addition to promoting the activity of decomposers, En-Save's Plant Residue Application promotes activity of nitrogen fixing bacteria and phosphate solubilizing bacteria. This has the added benefit of increasing availability of nitrogen and phosphorous.
